Following the departures of Azpilicueta and Reinildo, another seasoned player has left the squad.
Details: Atlético Madrid's official account on X has also said goodbye today to 36-year-old Axel Witsel, who leaves the club as a free agent following the expiration of his contract.
Witsel joined Atlético in 2022 after transferring from Borussia Dortmund. At the time, the transfer fee was €20 million. Since then, the Belgian has made 116 appearances, scored 3 goals, and provided 2 assists for the club.
