The young Franco-Ivorian defender is set to leave Bayer Leverkusen temporarily to join the Spanish La Liga.

Axel Tape is set to embark on a new chapter in his young career. The 19-year-old defender is expected to leave the German Bundesliga to play in La Liga during the 2026–2027 season.

According to reports, Bayer Leverkusen have reached an agreement with Levante for the loan of Axel Tape. The 19-year-old defender is set to join the Spanish club for one season, with no option or obligation to buy. That said, the player of Ivorian origin will return to Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the 2026–2027 season.

The ball is now in play for the medical, which Axel Tape is expected to undergo shortly before finalising his loan move to Levante. The defender is expected to make the most of this experience in La Liga to gain playing time and continue his development.

Last season, Axel Tape made six appearances in the German Bundesliga for Bayer Leverkusen.
