Aubameyang Banned Indefinitely From Gabon National Team Following Winless AFCON Campaign

Former Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been handed an indefinite ban from the Gabon national team after a disastrous Africa Cup of Nations campaign in Morocco. Gabon also sanctioned captain Bruno Ecuélé Manga following three straight Group F defeats.

The Panthers lost 1–0 to Cameroon, fell 3–2 to Mozambique and were beaten 3–2 by Ivory Coast. Acting Sports Minister Dr. Simplice Désiré Mamboula confirmed the decision, announcing the dissolution of the national team structure and the Thierry Mouyouma-led coaching crew, casting doubt over Aubameyang’s international future.
