Atletico's young star is preparing for a move to the Bundesliga

Atletico Madrid are forced to sell players in order to register their latest two signings, likely Clement Lenglet and Juan Musso. Samu Omorodion has already left the club, and another player is set to depart soon — Arthur Vermeeren.

Vermeeren has struggled to make an impact at Atletico since his move from Antwerp in January. The arrival of Conor Gallagher pushed him further down the pecking order, and playing time for the young midfielder has been limited.

In recent weeks, there has been active discussion about his potential loan departure, and according to Matteo Moretto, Vermeeren will leave the club before the transfer window closes on Friday. His preferred destination is RB Leipzig.

Moretto also notes that one of the reasons for his departure is his incompatibility with Diego Simeone's philosophy. Vermeeren showed great promise when he joined Atletico Madrid in the winter, but like Vitor Roque at Barcelona, it seems he has failed to win the trust of his coach. It remains to be seen whether he will leave the club permanently.
