Over the weekend, Real Madrid and Atlético played to a 1-1 draw in the Madrid derby, but the match was marred by the behavior of Atlético fans, who threw objects at Thibaut Courtois and shouted "Die" at him. The club is now looking to mitigate potential sanctions from La Liga.

Details: According to El Chiringuito, during the hearing, Atlético claimed that before lighters were thrown at Courtois, the goalkeeper made certain gestures towards the crowd.

Atlético argue that the Belgian keeper provoked the fans.

La Liga is reportedly considering a punishment of four home matches behind closed doors for Atlético. However, the investigation is still ongoing.

Atlético’s next home game is scheduled for October 20th against Leganés.

Reminder: Prior to the match against Real, La Liga had already warned Atlético fans of potential arrests.
