Atletico set to hijack Napoli's move for Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes
Atletico Madrid have set their sights on Wolves’ Brazilian midfielder Joao Gomes.
Details: According to Lyall Thomas, there have been no official talks between the clubs yet, but the Brazilian is considered one of the top two priorities for the Spanish side to reinforce the midfield after the sale of Conor Gallagher.
Napoli are also interested in the 23-year-old midfielder. The Italian club has already explored the possibility of a potential transfer. Earlier, we reported that Napoli had reached an agreement with Joao Gomes regarding the move.
Additionally, reports indicate that Joao Gomes is on Manchester United’s shortlist for the summer transfer window. The Premier League giants continue to monitor the situation closely.
It’s worth noting that this season, the Brazilian has made 24 appearances for Wolves across all competitions, registering one assist—in the EFL Cup match against Everton.
Reminder: West Ham are finalizing the transfer of Fulham winger Adama Traore.
