The transfer battles are heating up even before the window officially opens.

Details: According to El Nacional, 28-year-old Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, currently on loan at Catalan giants Barcelona, could be on his way to Atletico Madrid.

Reports suggest that despite Barcelona's desire to keep Rashford, the "Colchoneros" are ready to make major sacrifices to lure Marcus to Madrid.

Previously, Rashford had informed Manchester United's management not to consider offers from other La Liga clubs, as he only wanted to play for Barcelona. However, Atletico are confident they can put forward a far more lucrative personal contract than the Catalan side can afford.

This season, Rashford has appeared in 23 matches for Barça, scoring 7 goals and providing 11 assists.

Rashford's market value is currently estimated by Transfermarkt at 40 million euros.
