The Werkself will have to work hard to keep their midfielder in the squad.

Details: As reported by Ekrem Konur on his X social media page, Atletico Madrid has set its sights on 28-year-old Bayer Leverkusen central midfielder Alex Garcia.

The Atletico management reportedly sees Garcia as the ideal candidate to strengthen their midfield, given his experience and skill set. Meanwhile, Bayer is reluctant to let go of the player but understands that if Garcia himself wants to leave, it will be difficult to keep him.

Alex Garcia joined Bayer in 2024 from Girona for €18 million. This season, the Spanish midfielder has played 28 matches for the Werkself, scoring 3 goals and providing 5 assists.

His current contract with Bayer runs until 2029, and his market value is estimated at €20 million by Transfermarkt.

Reminder: A blow for the squad. Griezmann injured and set to miss the next match
