Atletico Madrid is facing financial issues. The club won't be able to sign anyone in the winter.

Atletico faces financial issues and won't be able to sign new players during the winter transfer window, as reported by AS. The club's financial condition significantly complicates any potential purchases in January.

Consequently, Diego Simeone, the manager of the Madrid-based club, will have to rely on the existing squad members. Encouraging news for the coach is the return of midfielder Pablo Barias. The midfielder is set to return to the pitch in January following a knee injury.

This season, the midfielder has been a pivotal player for Simeone but suffered an injury in early December. He has featured in 12 matches across various tournaments, scoring one goal and providing two assists.

Atletico currently holds the third position in the La Liga table, accumulating 38 points in 18 matches. In the Champions League, the team confidently topped their group and advanced to the knockout stage, where they will face Inter Milan. Simeone's squad will kick off 2024 with an away match against Girona on January 3rd.
