Atletico have found defensive reinforcements in Girona

Atlético Madrid are set to overhaul their squad in order to bring back a capable defensive line, and Diego Simeone seems to know who he needs for that purpose.

According to Fichajes, El Cholo are also looking to strengthen the right flank of the defence and to do so, they want to sign Girona player Arnau Martinez. His contract with the Catalan club expires in the summer of 2025, so the upcoming transfer window will be almost the main opportunity to earn money for the club.

This season Martinez has lost the competition to Jan Couto, and although he has played in 20 games for Girona, he has only played 1322 minutes on the pitch, for which he has managed to make three assists. Transfermarkt values the 20-year-old defender at €15 million.
