Russian flags banned at Euro 2024 match Ukraine vs Romania
On Monday, June 17th, the first match of the group stage of the European Championship will take place between Ukraine and Romania.
According to the publication Bombardir, the use of Russian flags will be prohibited at this game. Representatives of the Ukrainian Football Association managed to convince UEFA that these flags could lead to provocations and potentially cause altercations during the match.
It's worth noting that on Sunday, June 16th, aggressive fans from England and Serbia clashed in Gelsenkirchen. The altercation was highly aggressive, with ultras using makeshift weapons including tables, chairs, and bottles. There have been no reports of injuries resulting from the altercation.
As remind, the match between Romania and Ukraine in Group E of Euro 2024 will take place on June 17th in Munich. The Swedish refereeing team led by Glenn Nyberg will officiate the match, kicking off at 15:00 Central European Time.
