Aston Villa striker Brian Madjo is expected to miss the start of the 2026/27 Premier League season after suffering an injury during pre-season.

The 17-year-old has been one of Villa's standout performers during the build-up to the new campaign, but his impressive start has now been interrupted by a knock suffered following the club's UEFA Super Cup defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

Madjo made headlines during that match after scoring Villa's only goal on his competitive debut. The teenager's strike also made him the youngest scorer in UEFA Super Cup history.

According to The Athletic, Madjo is expected to remain sidelined until at least September, meaning he could miss several important fixtures at the beginning of the season.

If his recovery follows that timeline, the young striker would be unavailable for Villa's meeting with Arsenal, as well as matches against Hull City, Nottingham Forest and Tottenham on September 19.

The injury leaves Ollie Watkins as the obvious option to lead the attack, while Tammy Abraham is currently manager Unai Emery's other senior alternative up front.
