Aston Villa has refreshed its club record for the number of victories in a calendar year in the England Premier League. In the 17th round, the Birmingham team defeated Brentford (2-1).

This success marked the 25th win for Unai Emery's team in 2023 within the framework of the Premier League, setting a record for the most victories in a calendar year in the club's history.

Earlier, the Birmingham collective secured their first-ever streak of 15 consecutive home wins in the English Championship, with Emery becoming only the fifth coach in league history to achieve such a feat. The Spanish specialist now stands among the esteemed ranks of coaches such as Sir Alex Ferguson, Roberto Mancini, Jurgen Klopp, and Pep Guardiola.

Aston Villa currently holds the second position in the Premier League standings. The Birmingham team has accumulated 38 points in 17 matches, securing 12 victories. In the upcoming round, Emery's squad will face Sheffield United at home on December 22nd.
