Aston Villa has replicated the achievement of a legendary season

Aston Villa has advanced past Lille in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Europa Conference League. Despite losing 1:2, the Birmingham-based team secured their place in the next round via a penalty shootout.

This marks only the second time since 1982 that Aston Villa has reached the semifinals of a major European tournament. In that year, the club achieved its greatest success by winning the European Cup.

Aston Villa will face the winner of the Fenerbahçe - Olympiacos match for a spot in the Conference League final. The semifinal matches will take place on May 2nd and 9th, with the final scheduled for May 29th.

It's worth noting that Aston Villa's historical achievements include winning the UEFA Super Cup in 1982, as well as two Intertoto Cups (in 2001 and 2008). Additionally, the Birmingham team has won the national championship and the FA Cup seven times each.
