Assane Diao on Manchester United’s radar

The Red Devils are said to be in pole position to sign the Senegalese international from Como.

Assane Diao’s performances are said to have caught Manchester United’s eye. The Premier League club are reportedly impressed by the potential of the young Senegalese international, who plays in Serie A.

According to FourFourTwo, Manchester United’s scouts are impressed by the 21-year-old winger’s profile. This season, Assane Diao has scored three goals and provided one assist for Como across all competitions. Since joining the Italian club in January 2025, he has scored 13 goals and provided three assists in 41 appearances.

However, Manchester United are reportedly not the only Premier League club interested in securing Assane Diao’s services. Brentford, Liverpool, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Everton are also said to be tracking the 21-year-old Senegalese player.

Como are reportedly unwilling to let him go. The Italian club are said to be demanding between 50 and 55 million euros, whilst Transfermarkt estimates the player’s market value at 35 million euros.

Assane Diao is under contract with Como until 30 June 2029.
