Assane Diao made his comeback with Como in Serie A
The Senegalese striker had been out since December with a hamstring injury.
Assane Diao's ordeal is over. His injury is now a thing of the past. The Senegalese international had not played since December 2025 and missed the Africa Cup of Nations with the Lions of Teranga. But this Saturday 28 February, Diao played again.
He returned to the pitch in Como's 3-1 victory over Lecce on the Matchday 27 of the Italian Serie A. The 20-year-old came on in the 84th minute, playing his first minutes since his injury. This is good news for Como, who have regained one of their key players.
Senegal can also rejoice at his return as the international break in March approaches and the 2026 World Cup, which will take place next summer in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
