The reigning Ivorian Ligue 1 champions have got their season off to the perfect start with their first trophy.
ASEC Mimosas have got the new season off to the best possible start. The Ivorian giants faced CO Korhogo Thursday 6 August in the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Super Cup.
The match, played at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium, was dominated by the Ivorian champions. The first half of this clash between the Ivorian National Cup winners and the Ligue 1 champions was marked by suspense.
Despite numerous attempts, neither side managed to break the deadlock during the first 45 minutes. But ASEC Mimosas finally found the breakthrough in the second half.
The Mimos broke the deadlock a few minutes after the break. Sou Olivier found the back of the net in the 54th minute, putting ASEC Mimosas 1–0 ahead. But the Ivorian Ligue 1 champions did not stop there.
They sealed the victory in stoppage time. Bakare Ouato sealed the win for his side in the 94th minute, bringing the score to 2–0.
ASEC Mimosas have thus won the 2026 Félix Houphouët-Boigny Super Cup and got their 2026–2027 season off to the perfect start.
