The reigning Ivorian league champions could only manage a draw against Mouna FC this Saturday 22 August.

ASEC Mimosas played their 8th friendly match of their summer pre-season. The Ivorian club faced Mouna FC, another side from the Ivorian professional league. However, the match ended in a 2–2 draw for Julien Chevalier’s side.

Amany Armel and Eric Zabala were the two goalscorers for the reigning Ivorian Ligue 1 champions. ASEC Mimosas have now gone four pre-season friendlies without a win.

Prior to this draw against Mouna FC, the Mimos had been beaten 2–1 by Ghana’s Medeama SC, lost 2–0 to Stella Club, another side from the Ivorian league and drawn 0–0 with Rahimo of Burkina Faso.

These are mixed results for ASEC Mimosas as they prepare for their first match in the 2026–2027 CAF Champions League. The Ivorian club will face ASCK of Togo in the first qualifying round.
