Asante Kotoko Sack Head Coach Abdul Karim Zito After MTN FA Cup Exit

Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have reportedly parted ways with head coach Abdul Karim Zito and his entire technical team following the club’s elimination from the 2025/2026 MTN FA Cup on Sunday, February 8, 2026.

According to multiple source, the decision comes in the wake of Kotoko’s disappointing round of 16 exit at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi, where they were knocked out by Aduana Stars on penalties.

After a tightly contested encounter that ended goalless after 120 minutes, Aduana Stars held their nerve in the shootout, claiming a 4–2 victory to send Kotoko crashing out of the competition.

As of the time of writing, Asante Kotoko have not officially named an interim head coach.
