Arturo Vidal thanks Fortaleza club for condolences after Monumental tragedy

Colo-Colo star Arturo Vidal expressed his gratitude to the Fortaleza club for their words of support and condolences following the horrific tragedy that occurred at the stadium during their face-off. The Chilean posted the relevant message on his Instagram page.

“Thank you for your messages, Fortaleza. Football is about love and unity. May this never happen again. We continue to mourn,” wrote Vidal.

It should be reminded that the tragedy occurred before the Copa Libertadores match between Colo-Colo and Fortaleza. As a result of a stampede at the stadium, one of the metal barriers collapsed, under which two fans of the Chilean club perished.

This incident has already led to the postponement of the match between Colo-Colo and Universidad de Chile, which was scheduled for April 13, to an indefinite date. Due to the incident, Colo-Colo could face a technical defeat in the match and more severe consequences: disqualification from the current Copa Libertadores and suspension from any South American competitions for a period of 3-5 years.
