Arthur Zwane Confident Despite Vilakazi's Exit at AmaZulu
AmaZulu FC head coach Arthur Zwane admits that Vusumuzi Vilakazi’s departure is a major setback but remains confident in his technical team’s ability to carry on.
Vilakazi, who had been co-coach for just five months, stepped down earlier this week in a move that shocked many, especially given AmaZulu’s recent improvement in form.
After a poor start to the season, Usuthu now sit sixth in the DStv Premiership table with 26 points from 19 matches. Zwane acknowledges that Vilakazi played a vital role in the turnaround but insists the remaining staff can maintain the momentum.
“Losing an important member is always critical for any organisation, but we have to move forward,” Zwane told the media.
“Coach Kanu [Vilakazi] did very well; we worked together with the same vision for the club. The good thing is that he left something behind in terms of understanding the philosophy.”
Zwane highlighted the presence of coach Mini Vilakazi, whom he believes is capable of stepping up and helping the team remain competitive.
“Now the focus is on the upcoming games,” he ended.
