Arthur Okonkwo Earns First Super Eagles Call-Up for Unity Cup

Arthur Okonkwo has received his first senior invitation to the Nigeria national football team following his impressive performances for Wrexham A.F.C. in the English Championship.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper was named in coach Éric Chelle’s squad for this summer’s Unity Cup in London after FIFA officially cleared him to represent Nigeria in April.

Wrexham also celebrated the goalkeeper’s achievement with a congratulatory message on X, writing:

“Congratulations to Arthur Okonkwo on receiving his first call-up to the Nigeria squad ahead of the Unity Cup.”

The Super Eagles will kick off their campaign at the Unity Cup with a game with Zimbabwe on Tuesday May 26.
