Arthur Okonkwo Eagerly Welcomed into Super Eagles Squad Following Nigeria Switch

Officials from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have confirmed that Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle is keen to include goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo in the national team squad as soon as possible.

Okonkwo recently completed his switch of international allegiance from England to Nigeria, having previously represented England at various youth levels. The young goalkeeper’s decision adds depth to Nigeria’s squad and provides the team with a promising talent between the posts.

An NFF official, speaking to ESPN, revealed that Okonkwo’s enthusiasm for representing Nigeria made the transition smooth and straightforward:

“He was very enthusiastic about switching allegiance and playing for Nigeria, and that made things easier for us,” the official said. “The coach, Eric Chelle, wants him and would like to have him in the squad as soon as possible.”
