Arteta comments on former academy graduate Chido Obi's move to United
In the summer of 2024, Chido Obi transferred from Arsenal's academy to Manchester United and could face the Gunners as early as this Sunday.
Details: As Mikel Arteta revealed, he had no involvement in the decision for the young player to move to Manchester United. He noted that it's a pity to lose such talent as the club wishes for its academy graduates to succeed.
Quote: "Chido Obi leaving us for Manchester United? I had no say in that decision. When a player decides that the best path for him is to leave, there’s not much we can do... It's a shame because we want our academy players to be successful," Arteta stated.
The Manchester United vs. Arsenal match, part of the Premier League's 28th round, will take place on Sunday, March 9, at 17:30 CET.
Reminder: Ahead of the clash with Arsenal, Manchester United's head coach expressed respect for his upcoming opponent but also acknowledged that he won't be given as much time to build the team as Mikel Arteta had.
