It was previously reported that strengthening the center of defense will be a priority for Real Madrid this summer, as the club failed to reinforce this position last summer despite Carlo Ancelotti's wishes.

The Spanish champions are particularly interested in signing Arsenal's main central defender, William Saliba.

The "Blancos" have made an inquiry to Arsenal about purchasing the French defender, but they received a rejection—the London club is not willing to sell Saliba for any amount of money.

It was also reported that the price for Saliba may be too high for Real due to the young age of the Frenchman and the role he plays at Arsenal.

If negotiations fail, the club's backup option is Cristian Romero from Tottenham. Additionally, Real continues to be interested in Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, who could become a free agent in the summer of 2025.
