Arsenal and Scotland left-back Kieran Tierney will no longer participate in the ongoing UEFA Euro 2024.
During the match against Switzerland (1-1), Tierney sustained an ankle injury, forcing him to leave the field on a stretcher. Following medical evaluation, it was decided that Tierney should return to Arsenal for treatment.
For the Scotland national team, Tierney has been playing as a central defender in a three-man defense setup.
Previously, Scotland also lost central defender Ryan Porteous for the remainder of the group stage due to suspension after he received a red card for a violent foul in the match against Germany (1-5).
On June 23, Scotland will face Hungary in a crucial match to secure a spot in the playoffs. Only a victory will keep Steve Clarke's team in contention for a place in the Round of 16.
