Arsenal Approach Sporting CP Star Ousmane Diomande Ahead of Summer Transfer Window

Arsenal have made an initial move in their pursuit of Sporting CP defender Ousmane Diomande as the summer transfer window approaches.

According to reports from Portugal, the Gunners have contacted the representatives of the highly rated Ivorian international to explore the possibility of a deal. Diomande, 22, has been one of the standout young centre-backs in European football over the past two seasons and is widely expected to attract strong interest this summer.

Despite recently signing a new contract with Sporting CP that runs until 2030, his long-term extension does not necessarily guarantee he will remain in Lisbon next season. The new deal reportedly includes a £70 million release clause
