The England national team continues to suffer significant personnel losses following the friendly match against Uruguay.
Details: According to The Athletic, Chelsea winger Noni Madueke left Wembley Stadium through the mixed zone, visibly struggling to walk. The player’s left leg was fitted with a special medical brace, indicating the injury could be quite serious.
The incident occurred back in the first half, when Madueke was forced to request a substitution. The reason was a tough collision with Uruguayan striker Rodrigo Aguirre. While the episode didn't appear as controversial as Araujo’s foul on Foden, the consequences for Noni proved to be quite painful. He couldn’t continue and now his participation in upcoming Premier League fixtures is highly doubtful.
It is expected that Noni will undergo a comprehensive scan in the near future.
It’s worth noting that the match ended in a draw, as Uruguay managed to equalize in the dying minutes thanks to Federico Valverde’s efforts.
Reminder: Uruguay defender Ronald Araujo nearly broke Phil Foden’s leg with a reckless challenge.
