Arriving only in summer 2026: Barcelona plans transfer for Gyökeres
Nearly every top European club is tracking the incredible Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyökeres, and one of them is about to make a concrete offer to the Portuguese champions.
Details: According to Diario Sport, Barcelona has firmly decided that the Swedish forward is the ideal long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
At the same time, the Catalans understand that it would not make sense to have two such strikers in the squad simultaneously. As a result, they are preparing to offer Sporting a highly strategic deal.
Barcelona plans to propose €70 million for Gyökeres but would allow him to remain on loan at Sporting for the next season.
Lewandowski’s contract with Barcelona expires in the summer of 2026, aligning perfectly with the club’s timeline to bring in Gyökeres at that point.
This season, Gyökeres has scored an astonishing 32 goals in 24 matches for club and country.
Reminder: Previously, Barcelona’s sporting director Deco insisted that the club was not working on a transfer for Gyökeres.
