Argentine Football Mourns Camilo Nuin as Authorities Investigate Possible Malpractice

Argentine football is in shock following the sudden death of Camilo Nuin, an 18-year-old midfielder for Club Atlético San Telmo. The player passed away on Wednesday while undergoing knee surgery at Clínica Espora in Adrogué, Buenos Aires province.
As reported by Infobae, the case is being investigated as possible medical malpractice after Nuin suffered a cardiac arrest during the procedure and could not be revived.
The investigation is being led by Prosecutor Carlos Pérsico of Lomas de Zamora’s unit for negligent crimes. The autopsy ordered for Thursday will be decisive in establishing the cause of death and any potential accountability.
Nuin had previously trained with Boca Juniors and Independiente before joining San Telmo in 2022. He played over 80 matches for the club’s youth and reserve teams and had been on the radar of the first team. Tributes poured in from across Argentine football, including the AFA and several clubs.
