FC Lugano has confirmed the departure of six players as their contracts near expiration on June 30, with Argentines Milton Valenzuela and Ignacio “Nacho” Aliseda standing out among the list. As reported on the club’s official website, the players will be honored at Cornaredo ahead of Saturday’s match against Young Boys.
Valenzuela, a 26-year-old left-back, joined Lugano in January 2022. Over three and a half seasons, he featured in 110 matches, scored six goals, and delivered ten assists. His standout performance during Lugano’s 2022 Swiss Cup triumph in Bern earned him recognition as a pivotal figure in the squad.
Aliseda, who arrived from Major League Soccer at the same time, made a significant impact with 22 goals and nine assists in 92 appearances. Known for his flair and game-changing ability, the Argentine winger proved to be a constant threat in the final third and a fan favorite.
Alongside the Argentine pair, Lugano also bids farewell to Roman Macek, Boris Babic, Allan Arigoni, and Kacper Przybyłko. The club expressed gratitude for their professionalism and contributions, wishing each of them success in their next steps. All six players will receive a farewell tribute at Cornaredo before kickoff on May 24.
