Argentina is defeated again. Brazil has won the Futsal World Cup for the first time since 2012
Today, October 6, Uzbekistan hosted the tenth anniversary Futsal World Cup.
In the final match, the South American giants—Argentina and Brazil—faced off. The Brazilian team confirmed its status as the favorite by defeating their geographic neighbors 2-1. Notably, earlier this year, Brazil also beat Argentina in the final of the Copa America.
Interestingly, Brazil has dominated futsal, winning their sixth World Cup in history. However, they had not found success in the last two tournaments, securing gold medals for the first time since 2012.
It’s worth mentioning that Argentina reached the final for the third consecutive time. After winning in 2016, they lost in the decisive match of the last tournament to Portugal in 2021.
Additionally, Ukraine won bronze medals for the first time in their history. In the third-place match, the Eastern European representatives crushed debutants France 7-1.
