Argentina Extends Its Reign Atop FIFA Rankings Argentina Extends Its Reign Atop FIFA Rankings

Argentina remains the world's top-ranked national team as the latest FIFA rankings were released on Thursday, continuing an impressive run of dominance that now spans more than two years. With 1885.36 points, Lionel Scaloni’s squad held onto first place after defeating Chile and drawing with Colombia in their most recent outings.

The reigning world champions have now led the FIFA standings for 27 consecutive months and are closing in on Spain’s record of 33 months at No. 1 from 2008 to 2011. Spain and France round out the current top three, despite recent Nations League setbacks.

Among the notable changes, Germany and Croatia climbed into the Top 10, pushing Italy out for the first time since October 2020. Costa Rica made the biggest leap, climbing 14 spots to reach 40th place.

The top ten now reads: Argentina, Spain, France, England, Brazil, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Croatia.

Other South American teams include Colombia (14th), Uruguay (16th), Ecuador (25th), Peru (42nd), Paraguay (43rd), Venezuela (46th), Chile (57th), and Bolivia (78th).
