Arda Guler writes his name into Real Madrid history
In the UEFA Champions League play-off clash, Real Madrid host Benfica, and one of the Spanish side’s players has etched his name into the club’s history books.
Details: According to Opta, Arda Guler has become the third-youngest player in Real Madrid’s history to reach 100 appearances across all competitions since the 2009/10 season. He is currently exactly 21 years old. The youngest on the list is Vinicius, who reached the milestone at 20 years and 232 days, while Eduardo Camavinga did so at 20 years and 275 days.
Prior to this encounter, police dispersed Benfica supporters near the Santiago Bernabeu stadium. It was also reported that several fans of the Portuguese side required medical assistance.
Reminder: We previously reported that Benfica lost their appeal against Prestianni’s suspension. He will definitively miss the showdown with Real Madrid.
