Antony Makes History at Betis: What Record Did He Equal?

Real Betis secured a dominant 3-0 away victory against Gent in the UEFA Conference League playoff round, with their new signing Antony etching his name into the club's record books.

Details: The Brazilian winger opened the scoring in the 47th minute, putting Betis in front. According to OptaJose, Antony became the first player since the 2013/14 season to score in each of his first two away matches for Betis.

The former Manchester United player has made an immediate impact at the club. In La Liga, he started Betis’ Matchday 23 clash against Celta Vigo, finding the net just ten minutes into the game.

Reminder: The last time Antony scored in a league match was back on April 27, 2024, in a Premier League fixture against Burnley on matchday 35. That game at Old Trafford ended in a 1-1 draw. Antony joined Betis on loan, with the Spanish club not having a purchase option in the deal.
