Antoine Semenyo Explains Why Choosing Ghana Over England and France Was an Easy Decision
Antoine Semenyo has opened up on his international future, revealing that committing to the Ghana national football team was a straightforward choice despite having other options.
The Manchester City forward was eligible to represent both England and France, but ultimately opted to play for Ghana, a decision he says came naturally at the time.
Speaking on The Mixer podcast, Semenyo explained that he did not hesitate when the opportunity arose. He noted that receiving a call-up to the senior national team at a young age made the decision clear, as it offered him the chance to play international football at the highest level.
“I was 20, 21 when Ghana came calling. I couldn’t say no to playing for the first team, so it was an easy choice,” Semenyo explained.
“No, it was never a hard decision. I wasn’t even in England’s top ranking like that anyway.”
