Anthony Joshua has shared his first public message following a tragic car accident in Nigeria that left him injured and claimed the lives of two of his closest friends and long-time team members.

The former heavyweight champion took to Instagram to post an emotional image as families and loved ones prepare to lay the victims to rest on Sunday. Though brief, the post carried deep meaning and reflected the heartbreak surrounding the incident.

The photo shared on social media shows Anthony Joshua standing alongside his mother and three other women believed to be relatives of the deceased. One of the women is seen holding a framed photograph of Sina Ghami, one of the men who lost his life in the crash. Joshua captioned the image with the words “My Brother’s Keeper,” a simple yet powerful message that resonated strongly with fans across the world.

The fatal accident occurred on Monday on a major road near Lagos. Joshua was traveling in a vehicle with Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele, popularly known as Latz, when it collided with a stationary truck. Both men were pronounced dead following the crash.
