Anrich Nortje Injury Update: South Africa Confirm Fast Bowler Will Take No Further Part Against Australia
Cricket South Africa have provided an update on Anrich Nortje after the fast bowler left the field during the Test match against Australia, confirming that his initial assessment showed no evidence of a right groin injury.
Nortje will take no further part in the innings as the team continues to monitor his condition following the incident.
The 32-year-old had been bowling at speeds of around 150km/h, putting pressure on the Australian batting line-up. He also dismissed Marnus Labuschagne, who managed just 14 runs, as South Africa looked to strengthen their position in the contest.
However, Nortje's spell was cut short after he appeared to experience discomfort in his groin. The fast bowler grabbed his leg and left the field, raising concerns about his availability for the remainder of Australia's innings.
The South African quick is now undergoing physiotherapy assessments, with the team confirming that he will not bowl again today.
