Another injury? Ter Stegen will miss the Super Cup matches and returns to Spain

Barcelona are preparing for the Super Cup fixtures, but one of the players will be unavailable for the semi-final and has already returned to Spain.

Details: As Barcelona officially announced, goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen is heading back to Catalonia, where he will undergo medical tests. Backup goalkeeper Diego Kochen will join the squad.

Barcelona will face Athletic Bilbao in the semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup on Wednesday, January 7, with kick-off scheduled for 20:00 CET.

We recently reported that Lamine Yamal did not take part in Barcelona’s training session ahead of the Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Athletic. The Catalan club stated that Yamal is working individually under a special programme.

Reminder: Al-Hilal defender João Cancelo is close to returning to Barcelona, but according to Barça head coach Hansi Flick, the transfer has not yet been completed.
