It was during the match between Pedro Luanda and Stade Malien (0-0) in the fourth round of the group stage of the African Confederation Champions League.
During the match on Saturday 31 January, Pedro Luanda, playing at home, was awarded a penalty after an hour of play.
Before it was taken, a Pedro Luanda player kicked the Stade Malien goalkeeper's towel, which was placed right next to the goal. Benny then took the penalty but missed. The scene was reminiscent of the theft of towels from the goalkeepers of Nigeria and Senegal during the last Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
