Chelsea is among the teams currently monitoring Torino's defender Alessandro Buongiorno. Alongside the English club, Inter Milan, Juventus, and Roma have shown interest in him due to his impressive performances in Serie A this season, as reported by The Sun.

Chelsea already boasts several options in the central defensive position: Levi Colwill, Axel Tuanzebe, Ben Chilwell, and Thiago Silva have all featured for the Blues this season. Alfie Gilchrist made his senior team debut in the midweek victorious match against Crystal Palace, while Wesley Fofana is sidelined due to injury. Trevoh Chalobah and Malang Sarr are also part of the team. However, with Silva currently at 39 years old and his contract expiring in the summer, Chelsea is exploring the possibility of adding another player.

Recently, Torino turned down a £21.5 million offer from Chelsea, as they believe the Premier League side could offer a sum closer to their valuation of £35 million. Buongiorno progressed through Torino's youth academy and has become a standout in the senior squad. This season, he has featured in 17 matches and scored two goals.

Chelsea continues to explore defensive options. They've been linked with Bayer Leverkusen's Jonathan Tah, although reports suggest Manchester United and Newcastle are also preparing offers for the player.
