Ancelotti thanked only two Real Madrid players for the best coach of the year award

The 2024 Ballon d’Or ceremony concluded yesterday, with Real Madrid’s delegation notably absent—a protest against the top prize going to Manchester City’s Rodri instead of Vinícius Júnior. However, Carlo Ancelotti was named Coach of the Year, and his reaction raised some eyebrows.

Details: On his Instagram and X pages, Ancelotti expressed gratitude to the club, yet singled out only two players—Dani Carvajal and Vinícius Júnior.

“I want to thank my Family, my President, my Club, my Players and above all Vini and Carvajal”, – Ancelotti wrote.

Interestingly, Real Madrid’s official social media channels have remained silent about Ancelotti’s award and the club’s recognition as Club of the Year.

Reminder: Rodri has made history as the first Spanish player in 64 years to receive the Ballon d’Or.
