Ancelotti speaks out against the new Champions League format

Yesterday marked the end of the first-ever league stage in the UEFA Champions League, and not all clubs found the format acceptable.

Details: In a press conference ahead of Real Madrid’s match against Espanyol, head coach Carlo Ancelotti expressed his opposition to the new format.

Quote:

"Real Madrid doesn’t like playing against Manchester City, and we don’t like the new format. There are too many games, and I support reducing the workload on players."

Tomorrow, January 31, the draw for the Champions League playoff preliminary round will take place. Real Madrid will face either Celtic or Manchester City.

Reminder: Earlier today, reports emerged about Al-Hilal’s interest in Real Madrid star Rodrygo.
