Ancelotti laments busy schedule after Vinicius injury
Real Madrid suffered a major blow this week with the confirmation that Vinicius Junior sustained an injury during Sunday’s victory over Leganés.
Head coach Carlo Ancelotti addressed the injury to one of Los Blancos’ key players, attributing it in part to the demanding match schedule.
Quote: "The injury happened at the end of the match against Leganés. The timing isn’t as important as the fact that he got injured. What matters most now is his recovery and focusing on the players who will replace him.
Vinicius is taking it seriously and doesn’t want to take unnecessary risks. Those returning from international duty appreciated his form—Vinicius, like Valverde, was in excellent shape. Sometimes, however, injuries just happen.
Why does this happen? We already know it’s because of too many matches," Ancelotti told Football-Espana.
Reminder: Vinicius will miss Real Madrid’s crucial Champions League clash against Liverpool on Wednesday. His overall recovery time is expected to be 2–3 weeks.
On a positive note, Lucas Vázquez has recovered from injury and has been included in the squad for the match against Liverpool.
