Analysts assessed which team has the best chance of winning the La Liga championship

The new La Liga season kicks off this week, with the first matches set to take place on Thursday, August 15.

The analytics portal Opta has released its predictions for the upcoming season, evaluating which team is considered the favorite to win the La Liga title. Real Madrid is the frontrunner, with Opta giving "Los Blancos" an 86% chance of securing the title. Their chances of finishing second are estimated at 11.5%, third at 1.9%, fourth at 0.3%, and fifth at 0.1%.

Barcelona is ranked second among the title contenders, with a 10.3% chance of winning the league. According to Opta, the Catalans have the highest probability of finishing second at 50.6%, and a 21.5% chance of finishing third. Atlético Madrid is most likely to secure third place, with a 29% probability, or 20.2% for second place.
