An unexpected "guest" may appear in the Champions League
The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) is seriously considering inviting teams from other associations to the Champions League.
According to journalist Ali Al-Harbi, the first such club could be the Saudi club Al Nasr. According to the insider, the team is being prepared to be invited to participate in the Champions League in the 2024/2025 season.
The UEFA leadership is interested in this option due to the high popularity of the team in which Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo plays.
Earlier it became known that the Saudi Football Federation was preparing a request to UEFA asking for a special invitation to participate in the Champions League in the 2024/2025 season.
Let us remind you that from 2024 the Champions League will be held in a new format. The number of participants in the prestigious tournament will increase from 32 to 36, and the group stage will be replaced by a single league. Each club will play a minimum of eight matches against eight different teams.
