An unexpected choice. Ex-Juventus and Barcelona player Pjanic moved to a Russian club

Former Juventus, Roma, and Barcelona player Miralem Pjanić has chosen an unexpected destination to continue his football career.
Details: Moscow's CSKA officially announced the signing of the Bosnian midfielder on a one-year contract. The 34-year-old Pjanić joined the Russian club as a free agent, with a salary of €1 million plus bonuses.
Interestingly, two years ago, Pjanić spoke out against holding a Bosnia national team match against Russia. Shortly after his move to CSKA, the midfielder publicly apologized for his previous comments.
Quote: ‘I know that many people are now discussing my words from two years ago, however, I have never said anything against Russia and Russian football. I am sorry if my language offended anyone, so I am ready to apologise,’ the Bosnian said.
Reminder: Pjanić’s last team was Sharjah from the UAE, where he played from 2022 to 2024.
In addition to the clubs mentioned above, Pjanić has had a rich career playing for Metz, Lyon, and Beşiktaş. For the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team, he made 115 appearances and scored 19 goals.
