Bayern have made it crystal clear—they are determined to keep Upamecano in Munich.

Details: According to L'Equipe, 27-year-old French defender Dayot Upamecano is set to sign a new long-term contract with Bayern Munich in the coming days.

Reports indicate that Upamecano has made his final decision in favor of the Bavarians, and under the new deal, he will become one of the highest-paid players at the club.

The new contract includes the following clauses:

  • Contract until 2030 or 2031.
  • Total annual salary of €20 million.
  • Signing bonus of €20 million.
  • Release clause of €65 million, effective from summer 2027.

The source also notes that, in addition to personal terms, one of the key factors behind Upamecano's agreement was the club's promise to extend the contract of current head coach Vincent Kompany.

The official announcement of the new contract is expected in the coming days.

Previously, media reports frequently linked Upamecano as Real Madrid's top target for the summer transfer window.

Dayot Upamecano joined Bayern from Leipzig in 2021 for €42.5 million. This season, Upamecano has made 21 appearances for the Bavarians, scoring one goal.

Upamecano's market value is currently estimated at €70 million by Transfermarkt.
