New Zealand's Auckland City entered the opening morning fixture of the Club World Cup group stage against Bayern as clear underdogs even before the first whistle. The start of the match only reinforced that status.
The Munich side kicked off from the center circle with a pass to Neuer, while the Oceania representatives immediately dropped deep, showing no signs of pressing or even attempting to win the ball back.
The German goalkeeper carried the ball up to the halfway line without facing any resistance. Remarkably, the first half ended 6-0, and Auckland City failed to register a single shot toward Bayern's goal.
For the record, alongside the Germans and the New Zealanders, Boca Juniors and Portuguese side Benfica are also in the group.
