An interesting choice. Manchester United identify top candidate to replace Ruben Amorim
The Manchester United board has launched the search for a new head coach following the dismissal of Ruben Amorim.
Details: According to The Independent, the main candidate for the position is Crystal Palace's head coach Oliver Glasner.
Other possible options include Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna and Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, whose work at the London club has earned respect in Manchester.
However, it is Glasner’s achievements that have truly caught the eye at United. He has transformed Crystal Palace into one of the Premier League’s toughest teams to face and led the club to its first-ever trophy — the 2025 FA Cup. At United, his flexibility and adaptability are being highlighted as key qualities the board felt were lacking under Amorim.
Reports suggest Manchester United will not rush a final decision and are prepared to appoint an interim coach until the summer, when a permanent head coach can be named.
Recall: Among all post-Ferguson managers, Amorim posted the lowest win percentage of any Manchester United manager.
